We had a lovely experience when we came in for dinner. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the chef was very friendly. The food was amazing and well needed after a long day of dealing with those crazy divorce lawyers!! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed the Cattleman's Steak. Won't need dinner tonight now Went for another meal.. (Feb 02) evening meal this time. Pan fried Red Throat Emporer and 350gm Rib Fillet.. very nice. Both cooked excellently. With a pint of the local Pilsner.. perfect Aircon too. Very comfortable evening.

In town for work and opted for Australian due to its closeness to accomodation (and promise of craft beer!) Was pleasantly surprised to see range of beers on tap. Meal was very good. What made this outstanding though, was the warmth of the service I received. Toni at the bar was knowledgeable about the beers, generous in her advice and bent over backwards to help. Lindsay the chef was also really gracious and produced quality meals surprisingly quickly. Highly recommended

Retro hotel, very clean and kitchen looked refurbished with a cool setup to get meals out. All the staff from the front bar to the restaurant manager were so helpful and hospitable. The meal servings are substantial, but the taste was spot on. Also, a hint would be to ask or the sauce on the side in a ramekin. I will be back to try again and review my comments

Maaaaaaaate. This was simply amazing. I try and be as honest and fair as I possibly can be when reviewing food and restaurants. This review is one of the easiest ones I have had to write. Amazing.... Simply amazing. Under new ownership/management...and the food is spectacular. Tuesday night was a bit quiet, (hopefully it is only a Tuesday thing and people make the effort to give this place a go). I hope everyone treats themselves in the future and make sure the visit and try this awesome food. Tonight was the aged Rib Fillet (with peppercorn sauce)... And Turkish Chicken. The steak was amazing and I could have just drunk that peppercorn sauce straight from the jug... Amazing. The Turkish Chicken was cooked and charred to perfection. Forget Taco Tuesdays...make it Aussie Hotel Tuesdays... You won't be disappointed. Ohhhh.... And there are deserts as well if you feel adventurous. Apple and Cinnamon infused triffle, and Raspberry and White Chocolate Cheesecake for desert. Fabulous from first bite to last. Well done chef ... My complements (and my complements don't come easy). WELL DONE!!!!
